First, you must wall your city off. Build artillery to protect the walls. Observation balloons keep your range up.
I use what I call forward fire bases. This is artillery, snipers, anti-tank guns, medics, and anti-aircraft guns. You will need at least three of each.
Extend the range on all of them to the max.
Move this group to a spot on the map. The snipers give you range on your artillery. The mobile anti-aircraft guns are
critical, you need at least three but 4 is better. This group will control an area with a range of about 14. Once clear,
laydown some towers and anti-aircraft (stationary) and move to the next area.
Unless you are presented with a large force, you are unstopable.
It is a great game! Even though you have to spend a lot of time to win a scenario... And also I don't know how on others, but on my computer cheats do not work for this game. But what I like about it, is that it makes you think on every move you do, and you know when you've done the wrong move very quickly. But the best part about it is that you don't stay in those ages where you don't have normal weapons all game long, like in "Age of Empires" and "Age of Mythology"... But you procede to other ages even more futhers that ours. And also in extension pack you can go to marse or some planets like that. Overall I like this game very much.
